DECAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
BE SURE TO CLEAN THE AREA YOU WISH TO APPLY THE GRAPHIC TO THOROUGHLY
BEFORE STARTING:
USE GLASS CLEANER OR ALCOHOL
TO REMOVE DIRT & OIL.
1: Anchor the graphic.
Once you have the graphic where you want it, apply a piece of tape at the
top center of the graphic. This will create a hinge for easy and secure
application. Step back and take a look to see that it’s properly placed.
2: Separate vinyl from
backing material. ****Be very careful removing the backing****
Raise the decal and carefully separate the top layer of application tape and
vinyl from the backing material. Pull back slowly while holding your decal
above the surface. Keep an eye on the decal and make sure you are not
removing any of the decal with the backing. The decal should remain on the
top piece of transfer tape.
3:
Apply the decal
Holding the bottom of the vinyl decal a couple of inches above the surface,
be careful not to pull as it will stretch the decal, start at the top in the
middle of the graphic and move (using short strokes) in a downward motion
with your squeegee (Moderate pressure should do fine). Be sure to overlap
your strokes keeping all air bubbles from getting trapped underneath the
vinyl. Be careful. (If you do not have a squeegee, you can use a stiff
credit card. Just watch out for sharp edges.) Go back over the decal with
your squeegee after it has been laid completely on the surface, to make sure
the decal has adhered to the surface well.
4: Remove application tape.
VERY CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY remove the top layer of application tape from the
vinyl. Be sure to pull downward at an angle and hold the application tape
close to the panel. DO NOT PULL AT A 90 DEGREE ANGLE. Keep an eye on the
vinyl and make sure you are not removing the vinyl with the tape.
5: You now have a great looking decal. Nice job!
